| Class: Traditional Irons: Ruger Vaqueros, .44-40 with 71/2 and 51/2 inch barrels, Uberti Yellow Boy ('66 Winchester) in .44-40, Model 97 Winchester 12 Ga. History: History: (19th Century) Fought with a militia regiment from Iowa at Shiloh in '62, mustered out in '63. Re enlisted with 7th Iowa Cavalry Regiment same year and posted to Frontier west of Kearney, Nebraska. Was with the 7th Regiment through the end of Civil War mustering out again a year after the War in '66. During my time with the 7th Iowa we guarded the stage routes and telegraph lines running west to Denver and Cheyenne. Participated in campaign of '64 against the Sioux and Cheyenne. Following my time on active duty I signed on as a scout with Gen. Crook working the Bozeman Trail area and the area north of Yellowstone. Did this on a near continuous basis until I was wounded in the late Spring of '76. I was convalescing during the Little Big Horn campaign which most likely saved my hide. From '76 into the mid '80s I did some prospecting in the Northern San Juans northeast of Durango, CO in the LaGarita. It was during this time that I became good friends with Tel Sackett and several of his cousins. We rode the trail together in the Four Corners region well into the '80s. Tried to settle down and do some ranching but the drought in '87 wiped me out. Thereafter I drifted through the northern plains in Wyoming wrangling and prospecting in the area northwest of Yellowstone. Because of my familiarity with the Yellowstone and Wind River areas, local law enforcement sought me out to help run down the infamous "Wild Bunch" gang. We eventually chased the Butch Cassidy gang out of the territory. It was rumored that Butch and Sundance left the territory in the early 1900s. My character faded into obscurity prior to WWI. I had become an anachronism with the dawning of the Industrial Age. Bronco Six was last seen in the LaGarita region of SW Colorado hunting elk around 1917. (20th and 21st Centuries) Born and raised in Iowa. Following graduation from high school in 1964 went "back East" to college and then spent 27 years in the Infantry in the U.S. Army. Currently a defense contractor with Cubic Defense Applications Group working at Camp Smith HI (USPACOM). Joined SASS in Jan. 99. Initially shot with the Pongo Posse in VA Beach, VA and the Mattaponi Sundowners in West Point, VA before coming west to Hi. |
