TIP #1
"Safety"
Keep safety in your mind at all times when handling firearms and what's being said to other people. No one wants to get hurt, especially you.
TIP #2
"Accuracy Versus Speed"
When shooting this sport.
It's not how fast you are, but how accurate you are.
If you take that extra second to aim, it's always better than the 5 second miss penalty.
Speed will come naturally with practice and experience.
TIP #3
"Practicing"
Practice is key to better your self. Sometimes we can't go the range and practice. So here are some things that might help.
1) When you're at home, you can practice target acquisition. First make sure your firearms are unloaded!!! Then pick targets from things around the house or set things around the house. Next choose your firearm. If you start with a pistol, draw and point at your taget keeping in mind how long it takes you to acquire that target. Take your time and progressively increase your speed. Move on to the other firearms. It's not going to happen overnight, but it will come.
TIP #4
"Caliber"
Shoot a caliber that you are comfortable with and not what you think is cool. Comfort makes for fun shooting. We tease people for shooting smaller caliber guns, but keep in mind that safety is always the issue. "Don't bite off more than you can chew."
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER-"DONT SQUAT WITH YER SPURS ON" |
